Carl Orff – And The Best Video I’ve Ever, Ever Seen

I’ve absolutely LOVED this for years and years and I’ve just found it on lovely YouTube. It’s from Musica Poetica, Schulwerk: Musik Fur Kinder.

And the video – SHEER GENIUS.

  1. That was beautiful! Heretofore my familiarity with Orff’s oeuvre began and ended with the Carminative Burana.

    • Dear Smaktakula,

I tried to get a recording of it for years and now there are a good few on YouTube!! I’ve just been playing them all.

  2. Dear Dotty,

Thank you for sharing these. That top video is perfect with the music. I have to admit I hadn’t heard this piece before–I love “Carmina Burana” but didn’t know this one. I’ll have to start checking out a lot more Orff, obviously.

  4. What’s with the top video?!! They obviously couldn’t afford to hire the whole of Cheryl Cole so opted just for a cameo appearance from her fingers. Bloody recession.

  5. Oh, it’s her feet! Well at least nobody can complain about miming.

    Dotty,
This is much better than Gershon Kingsley’s Popcorn.

  10. Dearest Dotty:
I’ve always loved this piece of music. It was used extensively in the soundtrack of the movie True Romance with Patricia Arquette. Thanks for tracking it down!

They’re almost normal, aren’t they? It just goes to show what a nice piece of music can do. 🙂
