Why would you root for the loser?

I want to see Roger tie Sampras’ record.
        Sorry about Andy.

      • Dear Maggie,

If Tsonga had won today I’d have been cheering for Federer because Tsonga is French and TRUE British people do not like the French though we have to pretend to for the sake of politeness.
        But Andy’s going to win.

      • Dear Dotty,
Why do we all have to pretend to like the French?

    Dear Dotty,

I’m rooting for Andy as well. But I still miss McEnroe even after all these years. Also, when I was growing up I heard everyone around me pronouncing it “Wimbleton” with a hard “T” sound. I was so surprised the first time I saw it written. I had no idea there was a D in there. Go figure.

    • Dear Mme Weebles,

McEnroe is a commentator now! He can be funny – today, after the ball hit Tsonga in the bollocks and they showed it in slow motion, he said he didn’t think the ball had hit him so high – he wanted Hawkeye to judge it. :-)

    • Dear Madame,
      I DO remember McEnroe!
This guy’s flair for the dramatic reminds me of him!!
      Total drama island!
      Thank you for the remembering!!!
      Now I’m chuckling. :)

      • I loved him and his drama. He was great to watch. I saw McEnroe once at the US Open several years ago, he was en route to the commentators’ booth and I was walking alongside him going down the corridor. I wanted to say something but I was so tongue-tied that I couldn’t.

      • Dear Madame,
YOu know what would have been awesome??
        whispering right behind him:
        “You canNOT be SERIOUS!”
        I woulda paid you 20 bucks. :)

  4. Dear Dotty,
I don’t follow tennis….but this guy is HILARIOUS!

    Love him up Dotty!!!

  5. Dear Dotty,
YAY!!!!!!!! Andy’s through to the FINAL. I am overcome with emotion. Tsonga was brilliant too. Shame about the blow to the danglies! I can’t wait for Sunday. Can’t believe Jok-a-vich (can’t spell it) is out. By the way, don’t like how McEnroe has to call him ‘Joke a vich’. Sue Barker always repeats it after he says it but says it properly. Murray mound will be full of screaming Brits wearing ginger ‘see yew Jimmy’ wigs. Oh! Did I say how excited I am? I am. Thanks Dotty for liking him as much as me. Love Chris xx

    • Dear Christine,

I’ve done a new post with the bollock-belting photo!

I was stunned when Rafa was out – I couldn’t believe it.

I’ll be GLUED to the telly on Sunday. :-)

      • Dear Dotty,
I will be too. I thought Nadal would’ve been in the final. However, it’s fantastic that our Andy will be there instead. I am heading off now to find the post about the unfortunate incident mentioned before.
        Love Chris

      • Dear Christine,

Federer’s getting old and he’s got a dicky back. If Andy can hold his nerve, he’s in there. :-)

      • Dear Dotty,
Is 30 old? I suppose for tennis it is. Yeah, whatever helps him can only be good. Hope his ankle holds out. he did have a nasty tumble today. Oh let’s wait and see.
        Love Chris

    • Dear Garry,

The interviewer asked him why he’s started doing that pointing at the sky thing but he won’t tell – I think he’s been doing a bit of Cosmic Ordering and the pointing thing is him thanking the Universe for the win. :-)
